Our 6th annual Home for the Holidays campaign raised over $470,000 for our charitable partners: The National Coalition for the Homeless, Feeding America® and Toys for Tots®!
The holidays can be a financially difficult time for many families, which is why we make it our yearly mission to feed, house and bring joy to families in need across the country during the giving season.
Even in our 6th year carrying out this unifying mission, Newrez employees across the country only seem to grow in their holiday commitment – this year, our fundraising efforts increased 15% from last year!
The campaign consists of multiple components: a toy collection effort, a 2x match on employee donations to our campaign partners, a work activity-based donation drive, a company-wide volunteer campaign and a senior leadership fundraising showdown!
Toy Drive:
Community Engagement Councils work year-round to bring impactful community-minded events to their offices, including fundraisers, awareness campaigns and regular volunteer opportunities. During the giving season they commit to collecting toys for their local Toys for Tots® chapter. In total, we collected over 2,200 new toys for children across the country to be distributed by Toys for Tots®. Just over half of all toys we collected were from our Coppell office, demonstrating our value of Heart & Hustle!
Doubling Impact:
Employees enjoy a dollar-for-dollar company match on donations to eligible nonprofits of their choice in our employee donation platform throughout the year. During Home for the Holidays, we sweeten the deal even more with a double company match for every dollar donated to the campaign. For example, if an employee donates $100, a total of $300 is contributed to the Home for the Holidays campaign. In total, we fundraised $470,000+ for our Home for the Holidays partners.
Business Engagement:
Our Servicing and Originations teams helped drive corporate contributions to this year’s holiday campaign through the work they do every day. For every loan Originations locked during the month, Newrez contributed $10 to the fundraiser. In Servicing, a variety of completed customer‑support activities generated an additional $1 donation each. Together, these efforts added $171,000 in corporate contributions to our campaign total!
Volunteer Efforts:
New to the campaign this year: we hosted a company-wide volunteer campaign at our core office sites supporting the National Coalition for the Homeless partner network. Newrez employees assembled approximately 1,800 essentials kits to help our neighbors stay warm and dry.
Leader Showdown:
Our Houston Community Council hosts an annual Leadership fundraising showdown, each year with a new twist! For the 2025 Giving Season, two leaders and their teams participated in a “Rez Family Feud” hosted at our Houston office and livestreamed to all employees. Shane Ross, Head of Servicing, and his team won the Rez Family Feud, but Joshua Bishop, Head of Servicing Operations, won the fundraising competition. The combined efforts of Joshua Bishop, Shane Ross and Todd Block helped raise just over $241,000!
Giving Tuesday:
Giving Tuesday is a global “generosity” movement celebrated the Tuesday after Thanksgiving every year in the United States. It has become a Newrez staple the last couple of years to gift all employees’ Giving Accounts with $25 to donate to their favorite eligible nonprofit organization in the Giving Portal, on us, in the spirit of Giving Tuesday!
Another Successful Year:
Altogether, we were able to raise over $470,000 for our holiday partners all due to the generosity of our employees. Impact on this scale could not be achieved without our employees living out our value of Caring Fiercely. Here’s to another holiday mission accomplished!
Happy New Year!
