Fort Washington, PA— Newrez LLC (“Newrez”, the “Company”), a national mortgage lending and servicing organization, announced today that Senior Vice President and National Underwriting Manager Jennifer Lomanno was recently recognized with two honorable distinctions for her impact and merit within the mortgage industry – the 2022 HousingWire Women of Influence award and Mortgage Women Magazine’s Mortgage Star award.

The HousingWire Women of Influence program recognizes the outstanding efforts of women in driving the U.S. housing economy forward. Mortgage Women Magazine’s Mortgage Star award recognizes women at all levels of the mortgage industry who are finding ways to inspire, advance, and achieve beyond the norm.

Since joining Newrez in 2016, Ms. Lomanno has taken charge of creating new efficiencies that have enabled her underwriting team to be more productive and serve customers more effectively. A seasoned underwriter herself, she understands the challenge of change when it comes to underwriting processes. With that knowledge, she has made it her top priority to nurture new talent and create more growth opportunities for her team to advance their own careers and underwriting skillsets within the Company.

“My team is my ‘why’ – everyday, I am graced with the opportunity to help nurture talent and develop future leaders so that they can pursue their own dreams and be equipped with the potential to make a larger positive impact than I can,” said Ms. Lomanno. “We need more women leaders in underwriting and in the mortgage industry at large, so I am proud to help create more growth opportunities for that to happen.”

Earning both the Mortgage Star and Women of Influence awards showcases Lomanno’s incredible contribution to the future generation of the mortgage industry. Today, she continues to take the time to understand each team member’s long-term career aspirations and continues to create pathways for career upward mobility within Newrez’s underwriting division – feeding the industry with new talent and future leaders at large. Additionally, Ms. Lomanno also focuses on process improvement, collateral review and mortgage insurance automation as the Company’s National Underwriting Manager.

“What sets Jennifer apart as a leader is her strong focus on risk assessments and quality through positive leadership and empowerment of her team,” said Baron Silverstein, President of Newrez. “Her passion about the professional growth of her team is her motivation and her efforts to create efficiencies to positively impact her underwriters have allowed them to be more productive and have improved their processes as well as customer relations.”
